    • Christine K. O'Gorman, 51, of Malden, MA, formerly of Rutland, VT, passed away at her residence on June 14, 2018.
      Christine was born Oct. 18, 1966, in Topeka, KS, to Raymond and Sharon (Hough), Killam. Due to the nature of her father's business, Christine's family had lived in Kansas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wisconsin, Texas and Nebraska.
      She graduated high school from Randolph, NJ. She received her bachelor's degree from The American University in Washington, DC, and her master's in public administration from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She married James O'Gorman in 1991.
      Christine had been employed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), in Washington, DC, CONRAIL in Philadelphia, PA, the Town of Wallingford, VT, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Rutland, VT, and most recently, with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Boston, MA.
      Christine is survived by her husband, James, of Rutland, VT; her son, Austin, of Burlington, VT; by her parents Raymond and Sharon Killam, of Overland Park, KS; a brother, Michael (Brad) Killam, of Chicago, IL, and a sister, Sarah Stephens (Michael), of Seattle, WA; a niece, three nephews, a great-niece and great-nephew. Christine was predeceased by both maternal and paternal grandparents, a brother-in-law, a niece and a nephew. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Catherine O'Gorman Kinney, and mother-in-law, Muriel O'Gorman.
      Christine enjoyed cooking, music, needlepoint, running marathons, history and constitutional law and debating with her father on numerous subjects. She served as the chairwoman of The Friends of Belair Estate in Bowie, MD, helping to oversee the renovation of a Colonial Georgian mansion.
      There are no calling hours. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family in Topeka, KS, Rutland, VT, and Island Pond, VT. Notices will be listed in the respective local papers with those dates and times.
      In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to the Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763; and the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, 2 Rescue Road, High Falls, NY 12440.
