• Notes

  In the Gainsborough, All Saints, parish register is a burial for Thomas MAW, joiner, of Pignots Fee, on 4/2/1817 aged 70. That makes him born c.1747. In the Messingham parish registers is a marriage of John MAWE & Mary KIRGATH, both of Butterwick in the parish of Bottesford, on 28/5/1745, and they had a Thomas baptised on 29/9/1746. I wondered if John & Mary were the right parents as one of the witnesses to Thomas & Susannah's marriage was William KERGARTH.
