Comments (Login): I am trying to collect information about Rev. F. D. Brown.
As far as I know, he was born circa 1838 at Hemingstone in Suffolk. He went to Canada, got married and had two daughters in 1869 and 1872. He and his wife and children returned to England and he had a third daughter in 1888. He was rector of Witnesham in Suffolk for 32 years and died on 1st January 1919.
I have just noticed this piece in the Ipswich High School - School News 1899 <http://ipswicharchive.daisy.websds.net/Filename.ashx?systemFileName=IPGRS1899.pdf&origFilename=IPGRS1899.pdf>
MARRIAGES OF OLD GIRLS.
SPENCE-MAW.-On the 4th April, at All Saints', Kenley,
Surrey, by the Rev. F. D. Brown, Rector of Witnesham, uncle
of the bride, assisted by the Rev. S. I. W. Shilcock, brother-in-law
of the bridegroom, and the Rev. L. Harding Squire, Vicar
of the parish, Leonard Benbow, son of P. W. Spence, of Woodhurst,
Kenley, to Louisa Jane, second daughter of George Maw,
of Benthall, Kenley.
So was George Maw married to a sister of Rev. F. D. Brown?
Any information you may have would be most welcome.
