An inquest at the Wesleyan Chapel heard that she had been in good health and had not seen a doctor for many years. A post-mortem by Dr Barron found death was due to heart degeneration. William Maddocks, her husband, a bricklayer, died on 27th February 1929 aged 83. Louisa Maddocks, their daughter, died on 2nd February 1921 aged 27.
