Funeral service for Fred Strickland, 3225 N.E. 18th avenue, a retired school teacher, will be in Trinity Episcopal church at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, with burial in Riverview cemetery.
Mr. Strickland died in a local hospital Monday. He had been a teacher at Benson high school for 27 years before his retirement. He was born in Essex, England, November 18, 1880, and came to the United States in 1905. He moved to Portland 42 years ago.
Mr. Strickland was active for many years in Episcopal church work and sang in church choirs.
He is survived by the widow, Alberta L.; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys M. Simmons, Vancouver, B.C., and Mrs. Phyllis Melzian, Detroit, Mich., and four grandchildren.
Colonial mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.
