Enoch C. Blackburn, 79, of 202 Woodson St., died Monday, July 19, 2004, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
A native of Screven County, Ga., he was the son of the late Jasper and Clyde Cail Blackburn. He retired from Duke Power Company, and following retirement, was employed with Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. He was a member of Central First Baptist Church and Central Masonic Lodge #229.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ouida Maw Blackburn, of the home; a son, Harry R. Blackburn, of Anderson; a daughter, Carol B. Sipes, of Central; a brother, Tom W. Blackburn, of Port Wintworth, Ga.; sisters, Thelma Summers, of Rocky Ford, Ga., Varietta Williams, of Savannah, Ga., Charity Bragg, of Rocky Ford, Ga., and Gwynette Simmons, of Rincon, Ga.; four grandchildren, Max and Richard Sipes, and Zach and Jason Blackburn; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
