Edith Mary was born in Timberland, Lincolnshire, England in 1871, daughter of John and Amia Pinder nee Burton. She was the eldest daughter with seven siblings. On February 21st 1893 Edith married her cousin William Pinder at Martin, Lincolnshire. William had already made his roots in Kansas as a farmer and persuaded Edith to go back with him. They left Liverpool, England in March 1893 on the S.S. Aurania to sail to New York. Her father John was a farmer and in November 1894 the family decided to follow Edith and move to Kansas, U.S.A with most of his family.
Edith and William had eleven children between 1894 and 1912 and Edith looked after her family while husband William farmed.
Edith died very suddenly at her farm home in Huron, Kansas. She was survived by her husband William, five of her siblings, four Robert,Charles, Emma Amia and Thomas living in the U.S.A. Her elder brother John Wingate had remained in England. Eight of her children survived her and two grandchildren.
Her funeral was held at the Presbyterian Church at Huron followed BY BURIAL AT Denton cemetery.
