      Mr. Joseph MAW, of the Season Ticket Section, Newcastle D.P.M.O., retired at the end of March, having reached the age limit. Mr. MAW had been in the service for more than 46 years, most of which period had been spent in the Season Ticket Department. He was well known to hundreds of commercial travellers and other season ticket users. At a representative gathering of the staff, Mr. A. S. BUSWELL, District Passenger Manager, presented to Mr. MAW a bowls outfit, (woods, case and shoes), a case of pipes, and an umbrella, together with a Wedgwood bowl for Mrs. MAW. Speeches were made by Mr. A. S. BUSWELL, District Passenger Manager, Mr. J. E. RICHARDSON, Assistant District Passenger Manager, Messrs. H. J. WOOD, W. BEAUTYMAN, A. BLACKETT, A. JOHNSON, T. WEATHERBURN and Miss Vera FOGGAN.
