| Notes |
- Agnes' birth does not appear in IGI but she does in the 1841census, age 22, a spinner. She married Andrew Mercer, a coalminer born in Kennoway, and produced ten children, variously in Beath, Kennoway, and Auchterderran [Lochgelly]. She died 10 October 1887 in Buckhaven, age 68, of heart disease. Andrew Mercer died 22 June 1878 of heart disease, in Methilhill.
Through the courtesy of Malcolm Holt, a descendant, a detailed family tree for Andrew Mercer is available.
In the Journal of the Fife Family History Society vol.13 No.1, October 2000, in an article entitled "The Fife Kalendar", there appears the following:
KENNOWAY ... Andrew Mercer, clock and watchmaker in Kennoway, received 3 mths imp[risonment] Cupar Jail at C[upar] S[heriff] C[ourt] 1 May 1876 for assaulting his wife, Agnes Dunsire.
