A funeral service will be held for Charles Stanley Blackman, 87 of Magalia, on Thursday, June 10, at 1 p.m. at Brusie Funeral Home. He passed away Monday, June 7, 2004 at a nursing home in Paradise.
He was born February 27, 1917 to Charles and Emma Blackman in Gosper County, Nebraska. Charles joined the Army Air Corps in February of 1942 and was discharged in February of 1945. While in the service he met his future wife, Wilma who he married on May 26, 1945. Charles enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Wilma of Magalia and brother-in-law Veikko Nelin and his wife Edith of Vancouver, WA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his son Charles in 1989 and by his 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
Donations may be made in his name to the Paradise Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home.
