Vivian L. Parker, 86, of Nampa, passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008 at a local care center.
Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. today, Oct. 28, at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. S., Nampa and graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Meridian Cemetery, 895 E. Franklin Road in Meridian.
Vivian was born Sept. 10, 1922, in Meridian, Idaho, to George and Clara (McIntosh) Maw. She met and married David Edward Parker on Dec. 3, 1943, in Everett, Wash., and they made their home in the Boise Valley. They raised four children - Debbie, Carol, Jim and Bob. Vivian worked for Birdseye, Simplot, Northrup King and Rodgers for 13 years, retiring in 1982.
She joined Good Sams in 1979, and held the office of president and treasurer. Vivian belonged to the Royal Neighbors of America for over 60 years and held every office at one time or another. She loved to can and turned out some beautiful jars of fruit, all types of crafts and grew beautiful roses. Vivian was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother.
Vivian is survived by her children Debbie and Steve Duncan of Bowmont, Carol and Robert Gray of Caldwell, Jim and Susan Parker of Mississippi and Bob and Marsha Parker of Downey, Idaho. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
