AURORA — Eileen Maw, 92, of Aurora passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Aurora United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ron Harris will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
Rosalie Eileen Maw, the daughter of John Edward and Edith Hilda (Jensen) Bayne, was born in Giltner, Neb., on Nov. 1, 1921, and passed away in Aurora, Neb., on Sept. 25, 2014, at the age of 92.
She grew up in the Giltner area and graduated from Giltner High School. Eileen worked in the school cafeteria for a few years before graduating from beauty school in 1962.
On Oct. 4, 1940, she was united in marriage to Keith Maw near Giltner. They farmed in Hamilton County for 20 years during hard times. Eileen had a beauty shop in their home for several years. In the 1970s, they moved to Aurora and she worked at the Hamilton Manor Beauty Shop for 20 years.
Eileen was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and Dorcas Circle. Eileen was a very hard worker throughout her life who always thought of others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Ron Meyer; sister, Audrey Brummund; brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Bierbower; and a granddaughter, Brenda Lee Andrews.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rosanne Meyer of Aurora; granddaughter; Wanda Wiles of Aurora, Colo.; two grandsons, Darin and Duane Hoegren of Omaha; four great-granddaughters, Tanya Wartchow of Lexington, Okla., Brandi Andrews of Oklahoma, Katie Hoegren of Fremont, Hailey Hoegren of Omaha; three great-great-grandsons, Cole and Clay Wartchow of Lexington, Okla. and Cruz Wiles of Aurora, Colo.; brother, Deryl (Kaye) Bayne of Grand Island; sister, Verla Bierbower of David City; brother-in-law, Robert Brummund of Doniphan; nieces and nephews; and friends.
