Description: John Maw, born in 1810 to John Maw and Elizabeth Blissett died about July 1844 in Kirton in Lindsey, burial being 8 July 1844 in Kirton in Lindsey. Children born to Hannah Samson/Sampson before 1844 were his. Her children born after were Patrick Hoban's. So Nicholas born in 1848 as a Maw was later named Hoban after his biological father, Patrick Hoban/Hovan and Hannah (nee Sampson or Samson) remarried. See marriage record on 25 May 1851 in Kirton in Lindsey. By the time Nicholas was married Mary Walder in 1867, he was going by his real name of Nicholas Hoban. Same thing on the name change for Mary Ann Hoban born in 1850. She married John Farrar 1872 in Leeds as a Hoban.
