Born in North Carolina, he was a son of the late Joseph and Ida Kansas Zachary Maw. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Columbia and a former lineman for Western Union Telegraph Co. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sue Arledge Maw; a grandson, Albert L. Maw of Columbia; and a granddaughter, Miss Sherry Maw of Columbia. Services will be held at 4 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of West Columbia, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Cuttino and the Rev. W. Lloyd Hellams. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be six members of his Sunday school class. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of West Columbia. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is in charge.
